Terms of service
Clear terms for a clear record.
These terms describe the basic rules for using WhisperBrain locally on your Mac and with optional WhisperBrain Cloud features.
Effective September 6, 2026
1. Using WhisperBrain
You may use WhisperBrain if you can legally enter into these terms. You are responsible for your account, your device permissions, your Obsidian vault, and the meetings you record or process.
2. Recording and consent
WhisperBrain does not join meetings as a participant, but it can capture audio playing through your Mac. You must notify participants and obtain consent whenever required by applicable law, contract, workplace policy, or the expectations of your meeting.
3. Local and cloud plans
The Free plan provides local recording, transcription, speaker recognition, summaries, and Markdown storage subject to the capabilities of the current Mac app. Pro is $8 per month or $72 per year. Max is $20 per month or $180 per year. Cloud limits and features are described on the pricing section of the website and may change with notice.
4. Your content
You retain your rights to audio, transcripts, notes, decisions, and other content you provide or create. You give WhisperBrain only the permissions needed to provide the features you turn on, including optional cloud inference. You represent that you have the rights and permissions needed to process that content.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use WhisperBrain to violate law or another person’s rights, interfere with the service, reverse engineer protected parts of the service, or submit content you are not authorized to process.
6. Availability and changes
We may improve, change, suspend, or discontinue features. Local Markdown files already written to your vault are yours to keep. Cloud features depend on the availability of the app, your network, and third-party inference providers.
7. Disclaimers
WhisperBrain provides transcription, summaries, and decision suggestions. They can contain mistakes and are not a substitute for your judgment, meeting consent obligations, legal advice, or an authoritative business record. Review important names, numbers, commitments, and decisions.
8. Contact
